Air Transat, owned by tour operator Transat, is Canada’s largest leisure airline, typically carrying around five million passengers annually. According to ch-aviation, its all-Airbus fleet consists of 44 aircraft: 19 A321LRs, 14 A330-200s, eight A321ceos, two A330-300s, and one A320 leased from European operator Smartwings. Its first A321XLR is expected to arrive this year.

The two upcoming European routes discussed in this article were announced earlier but warrant further examination.

Cirium Diio data shows that 62 airports will see Air Transat’s aircraft this year. The airline’s geographic focus changes based on seasonal demand. Comparing Q1 2025 (January-March) with Q3 2025 (July-September), there will be a 12% increase in flights during the summer months.

In Q1, there are significantly more flights to the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, South America, and the US. However, as summer approaches, services decrease substantially as aircraft are redeployed to Europe. Europe will account for 60% of the airline’s operations in Q3 compared to 14% in Q1.

Examining Cirium data reveals that Air Transat has planned 2;378 departures to Europe in Q3; equivalent to25 daily take-offs.This istshighest number onrecord, surpassingQ32;024 by1.5%.Flightsare also upby12% comparedtoQ32019 beforethepandemic.
