Amsterdam is set to commemorate its 750th anniversary in 2025, with celebrations culminating on October 27, the date the city first appeared in official records. This milestone is marked by a plethora of events throughout the year, catering to both locals and tourists. Despite previous challenges related to over-tourism, the city remains a popular destination, now imposing higher tourist fees and a ban on new hotel constructions.

Several hotels in Amsterdam are offering packages tied to the anniversary celebration. Notable among them is the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, a Hilton property renowned for its elegance and a two Michelin-starred restaurant. Bookings can be made through Skylark or directly via Hilton’s platform.

The Dylan, located in the 9 Straatjes area, is recognized for its boutique experience and gourmet offerings at its restaurants, Vinkeles and até. The Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht, noted for its creative designs by Marcel Wanders, provides a vibrant stay with Dutch-inspired interiors.

The Anantara Grand Krasnapolsky, colloquially known as “The Kras,” is situated near Dam Square, offering a historical dining experience at The White Room, a Michelin-starred restaurant.

In the Eastern Docklands neighborhood, The Hoxton, Lloyd Amsterdam provides a local experience in its historical building. De L’Europe, a canal-side hotel, highlights its rich history with recent renovations and offers luxurious hospitality with Heineken family ownership.

For architecture enthusiasts, The Pulitzer Amsterdam delivers a unique stay within restored 17th-century canal houses. The College Hotel Amsterdam, under Marriott’s Autograph Collection, embraces its educational past with academic-themed interiors.

Art lovers might gravitate towards art’otel Amsterdam, which doubles as an art gallery and is central to the city’s hustle. The InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam offers a luxurious stay with views of the Amstel River and historic decor.

The Conservatorium Hotel, now part of the Mandarin Oriental portfolio, is situated in the Museum District offering elegant lounges and a choice of dining options. Finally, the W Amsterdam provides a dual experience with its two buildings, featuring unique dining at Mr. Porter and The Duchess.

These hotels reflect the diverse offerings in Amsterdam, accommodating a range of preferences for travelers during the city’s 750th-anniversary celebrations.
