The de Havilland DH100 Vampire, developed by the de Havilland Aircraft Company, was a significant British fighter jet. It was the second jet-powered aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF), following the Gloster Meteor. Designed during World War II to explore jet propulsion capabilities, it featured a single-engine twin-boom configuration and initially used the Halford H.1 turbojet engine, later replaced by the Goblin engine. The Vampire’s production began in 1944, entering service post-World War II in 1946.
