Emirates has launched an interline partnership with Bahamasair, allowing its customers to travel more easily to The Bahamas. The agreement enables Emirates passengers to book a single ticket for their journey from anywhere on the airline’s network to either Orlando or Miami, and then connect onward to Nassau or Freeport in The Bahamas using Bahamasair flights.
The partnership follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed by both airlines in June. According to Emirates, travelers will benefit from simplified booking and a unified baggage policy across both carriers. “The unilateral partnership between both carriers enables Emirates to expand its reach in the Caribbean, allowing its customers to connect on The Bahamas’ national flag carrier from two gateways in Florida to two destinations within The Bahamas – Nassau/Paradise Island and Freeport on Grand Bahama Island.”
Emirates currently operates daily flights to Miami with its retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft featuring four cabin classes, and five weekly flights to Orlando with a three-class configuration. From these Florida airports, passengers can transfer onto Bahamasair’s Boeing 737 services bound for Nassau or Freeport.
The new arrangement is expected to make travel between the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, and The Bahamas more convenient for Emirates customers.
