Ethiopian Airlines has received several honors at the 57th Annual General Assembly of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA), which took place in 2025. The airline was recognized with four awards: Airline of the Year for Best Profitability Global Operations for 2024, Airline of the Year for Best Improved Intra Africa Connectivity for 2024, Outstanding Service Award for significant contribution to the African aviation industry, and Distinguished Service Award for its role as a pioneer in the Free Route Airspace Project in Africa.

Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew commented on the recognition: “These awards are a testament to Ethiopian Airlines’ core Pan-African values and the unwavering dedication of our entire team. The prestigious Awards we received from AFRAA reaffirm our commitment to driving the continent’s growth and strengthening regional integration. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to AFRAA for acknowledging our efforts and emphasize our dedication to achieve more.”

The airline currently serves over 145 global destinations, including more than 60 across Africa. Ethiopian Airlines plays a major role in intra-Africa connectivity and maintains a strong presence connecting Africa with other parts of the world.
