Jakarta, Indonesia — Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has introduced FedEx Surround, a new monitoring and intervention solution aimed at improving logistics and supply chain management for customers in Indonesia and other Asia-Pacific regions. The service is also available in Australia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong SAR, with plans for expansion into additional markets.

The FedEx Surround solution is designed to integrate with the company’s existing transportation network, supporting industries such as healthcare, aerospace, and high-tech. It offers users enhanced control and visibility with three service levels: Select, Preferred, and Premium. The solution provides critical updates to ensure that sensitive shipments maintain their integrity and timely delivery.

Key features of FedEx Surround include:

1. Flexibility and Control – A dashboard for near real-time global visibility and predictive analytics powered by AI and SenseAware ID.
2. Greater Value – Enhanced operational capability with special handling codes allowing for prioritized boarding and handling.
3. Peace of Mind – 24/7 expert support for proactive monitoring and intervention, along with customized reporting.

Garrick Thompson, managing director of FedEx Indonesia, stated, “Global supply chains are more complex and interconnected than ever, making predictive logistics a strategic advantage. At FedEx, we are not just tracking shipments but equipping businesses in Indonesia with AI-powered insights and real-time interventions that redefine supply chain resilience.”

FedEx Surround employs advanced sensor technology, including SenseAware ID, which sends precise package location data every two seconds using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). This technology facilitates continuous monitoring and allows for proactive shipment interventions. Equipped packages are tracked hundreds of times, offering more real-time data compared to traditional scanning methods.

The company employs AI and machine learning within the FedEx Surround system to predict potential disruptions, enabling quick, informed decision-making. FedEx also provides digital tools such as FedEx Ship Manager and FedEx Delivery Manager to streamline shipping processes for customers.
