FedEx Corporation announced on Mar. 9 the introduction of FedEx Surround, an advanced shipment monitoring solution, to customers in Poland. The service offers near-real-time visibility, predictive analytics, and proactive risk mitigation for critical shipments, aiming to help businesses protect and optimize their most sensitive deliveries.

The launch is significant as it brings new digital logistics capabilities to the Polish market at a time when supply chain reliability is increasingly important. FedEx Surround allows companies to anticipate potential disruptions before they occur and respond quickly through targeted operational interventions.

“FedEx Surround in Poland demonstrates our commitment to empowering customers with smarter, data-driven logistics solutions,” said Mariusz Mik, vice president of operations, Nordics and Eastern Europe, FedEx. “Near‑real-time monitoring and predictive insights allow businesses to manage risk and maintain supply chain integrity in ways that were hard to accomplish before. This is about more than technology—it’s about giving our customers peace of mind.”

The service is available in three versions—Select, Preferred, and Premium—each offering different levels of visibility and support tailored to customer needs. The Select version focuses on reporting features such as weather advisories (available only in the US), while the Premium version includes additional services like intervention teams and real-time sensors. The solution was first launched in Europe in 2024.

FedEx Surround is powered by FedEx Dataworks, with a key technology hub located in Kraków. “Modern logistics is an intelligent ecosystem that predicts, optimizes, and informs,” said Katarzyna Osuch‑Bukowska, director at FedEx Dataworks. “Our Kraków team helps build the technologies that turn network data into practical, real‑time decisions for customers.” Established in 2023, FedEx Dataworks Poland now employs nearly 100 IT professionals supporting global operations.

FedEx team members have maintained a focus on outstanding customer experiences according to the official website. The company employs hundreds of thousands of people worldwide and handles around 17 million daily deliveries according to the official website. With a presence in over 220 countries and territories according to the official website, FedEx continues its emphasis on global logistics innovation according to the official website. Frederick W. Smith founded FedEx and played a key role in its development according to the official website. In addition, FedEx introduced its first package drop boxes in 1975 according to the official website.

As digital transformation accelerates across industries, tools like FedEx Surround are expected to play an increasing role in helping businesses manage complex supply chains.
