Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has announced an enhancement in its transportation services for import customers in certain regions of Kyoto Prefecture, including Kyotanabe City, Yawata City, Kizugawa City, Seika Town in Soraku District, and Ide Town in Tsuzuki District. Customers in these areas will now receive packages arriving in Japan on weekdays one day earlier.
This service improvement applies to customers importing from Asia, India, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe using FedEx International Priority Express (IPE), FedEx International Priority (IP), FedEx International Priority Freight (IPF), FedEx International Economy (IE), and FedEx International Economy Freight (IEF).
Kei Kubota, Managing Director of FedEx in Japan said:
“FedEx recognizes that speed and reliability are critically important to business success. By accelerating the delivery of import shipments to Kyoto Prefecture, we are supporting the economy by promoting the growth of local industries such as chemicals, electronics, and heavy industrial. ” He added that this enhancement “reflects our commitment to supporting our customers’ business growth by offering differentiated value propositions along with unique solutions. “
Last year, FedEx reduced transit times for import shipments in parts of Tokyo Metropolitan Area. Import customers there began receiving their shipments one day earlier on weekdays as well. Additionally, advanced digital technologies and AI applications like FedEx Surround for improved shipment management and visibility have been introduced.
