February brought a flurry of developments in the hotel industry, including significant changes and exciting new offerings from major brands.

Hyatt announced its annual hotel category adjustments, with 118 properties moving up in category and 33 shifting down. The company continues to use an award chart for pricing nights booked with points. Similarly, a recent TPG analysis revealed that Marriott Bonvoy points have decreased in value, though opportunities for valuable redemptions remain.

TPG also released its list of the most exciting hotels opening in 2025, featuring family-friendly brands offering free breakfast, the first W-branded all-inclusive resort, and locations ranging from Australia to Indianapolis.

Four Seasons introduced a unique travel experience for fans of HBO Max’s “The White Lotus.” The World of Wellness 2026 is a 20-day itinerary starting in Singapore and includes stays at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui in Thailand; San Domenico Palace, Taormina in Sicily; Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea in Hawaii; as well as destinations like the Maldives, Marrakech, Nevis in the Caribbean, and Mexico City.

In Japan, Seibu Prince Hotels & Resorts prepared for the final installment of the “Wicked” movie adaptation with themed food and drink offerings beginning across various properties.

Houston geared up for its annual rodeo event scheduled from March 4 to March Various hotels announced special packages and activities related to the rodeo. Thompson Houston introduced a Country Concert Series along with other themed events while Hotel Granduca offered its Sole of Texas Rodeo Package starting from $2,500.
