Gulfstream Aerospace has introduced two new ultra-long-range business jets, the G700 and G800, expanding their popular G650 family. These aircraft are powered by Rolls-Royce Pearl turbofan engines, offering up to 8,000 nautical miles of operational range. The G700 surpassed its predecessor as Gulfstream’s largest and fastest jet in 2019.
The G700 features a stretched fuselage, an increased maximum speed of Mach 0.935, and an improved wing design. It received its Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certificate in March 2024, with the first deliveries to U.S.-based customers occurring in April at a price of approximately $79 million.
In October 2021, Gulfstream announced the G800 variant, designed for enhanced private aviation capabilities with its extended range and advanced avionics. Certification for the G800 is expected in the second half of 2025.
Gulfstream Aerospace states: “Meet the strongest and most advanced fleet in Gulfstream history. With an aircraft for every mission, our portfolio is shaping the future of business aviation.”
The G700 can accommodate up to 19 passengers with a maximum operating range of 7,750 nautical miles. Its cabin offers five living areas with amenities like panoramic windows and a grand suite with a shower.
“Cruise at Mach 0.90 to travel faster with exceptional range,” says Gulfstream Aerospace.
The slightly smaller G800 boasts an operational range of 8,000 nautical miles. It can travel nonstop from London to Perth or New York to Hong Kong.
“The G800 is a marvel of performance and efficiency,” according to Gulfstream Aerospace.
Both jets feature the next-generation Symmetry Flight Deck aimed at enhancing safety and reducing pilot workload.
“Gulfstream’s award-winning Symmetry Flight Deck has revolutionized business aviation,” notes Gulfstream Aerospace.
These advancements position both models as significant players in the business jet market upon their respective entries into service.
