According to Los Angeles World Airports, LAXOrderNow is a mobile ordering system that allows passengers to browse, order, and pay for food and beverages directly from their phones while at the airport. The platform is designed for convenience and safety, offering contactless ordering at various terminal restaurants. Users can access it by scanning QR codes throughout the airport or visiting www.laxordernow.com, without needing to download an app.
URW Airports, which manages commercial operations at LAX, reported that the LAXOrderNow service expanded in 2022 to include gate delivery. This feature enables travelers to receive food directly at their departure gate, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction by reducing disruptions and wait times during busy travel periods. URW said that since its introduction, gate delivery has been well-received by travelers seeking a seamless dining experience at the airport.
The Los Angeles Business Journal reported that LAX handled 94.4 million passengers in 2023, reflecting a 3.4% increase compared to 2022. Despite this growth in passenger traffic, LAX fell to the fifth busiest airport in the United States, surpassed by Denver International and Chicago O’Hare airports.
