Air Canada is commemorating the 40th anniversary of its Aeroplan loyalty program with a series of giveaways, including 1 million points for 40 frequent flyers. To participate, members must register on a special landing page and complete the form by July 17. Eligible Aeroplan Elite Status Members receive an additional entry.

The airline is also offering various bonuses and prizes to all Aeroplan members. These include 20% back in points when redeeming over 20,000 points, and 4,000 bonus points on sun or weekend flight passes. Air Canada’s Vice President of Loyalty and Product, Scott O'Leary, emphasized the significance of this milestone: "Thanks to our members, Aeroplan has become one of the best travel loyalty programs globally."

Participants can also enter by mailing a fifty-word essay about their experiences with the Aeroplan program along with their Aeroplan number.

Additional opportunities are available to earn bonus points until July 17. These include:

- 20% back in points for hotel stays, car rentals, gift cards, and merchandise

- 40% bonus points on eligible flights and vacation packages

- 4,000 bonus points on sun or weekend flight passes

- Bonus points for Uber rides and transactions at certain gas stations and retailers

Aeroplan credit cardholders can earn extra perks such as a bonus of 400 Status Qualifying Miles for booking eligible trips during the promotion period.

Southwest Airlines has also announced a similar giveaway to celebrate reaching one million Instagram followers. This competition runs until July 16.
