Comments have been reactivated on the site following a period of suspension. The initial shutdown was due to an issue encountered during the migration to a new content management system, which resulted in email addresses being displayed instead of user display names.

"We paused the comments because in the process of migrating to a new content management system, the system started posting the email addresses of commenters instead of their display names," stated an official note from the site administrators.

Readers are advised that this risk persists. Some users have found that re-entering their chosen public persona name by accessing their accounts (via "logged in as..." notation on the top menu bar) resolves this issue, though it may not work for everyone. The administration has acknowledged this problem and plans to address it, but it will take some time. This will be the only warning issued regarding this matter.

The decision to reactivate comments comes after mixed feedback from readers. While opinions are divided, there is enough support with certain caveats that suggest fulfilling these conditions could sway some detractors. For now, comments will be enabled for all stories in this edition and retroactively turned on for previously missed articles.

Moderation remains spotty and occasional reminders about maintaining civility will continue. However, new developments are anticipated to improve the commenting experience for all users.
