Aviramp secures contract to supply boarding ramps for Paralympic Games

Aviramp has secured a significant order to supply special boarding ramps for athletes arriving in France for the Paralympic Games. The company will provide four of its Regional ramps for use at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris as part of a substantial May order book.

Throughout May, Aviramp clinched deals worth more than £1.13 million, continuing to build on a 30 percent increase in orders since the beginning of the year. Chief Executive Graham Corfield highlighted the Charles de Gaulle deal as the month's standout achievement.

“We’re thrilled to be supplying our ramps for use at Charles de Gaulle during the Paralympics. It’s a real vote of confidence in ourselves and the ramps,” said Corfield. “There could be no better demonstration of the value of our ramps – and the way they are bringing real improvements to how people get off and on planes – than being used by athletes arriving for the games.”

Corfield emphasized that Aviramp's ramps are step-free with a gentle slope of just 8 degrees, making them accessible to everyone while also increasing turnaround time by 30 percent compared to traditional steps.

In addition to the Paris deal, Aviramp secured orders from Edinburgh Airport, Air Tahiti, Aurigny Air Services, BAE Systems, and ISM for various electric and solar-powered ramps. Notably, BAE utilized a solar-powered Regional ramp for D-Day veterans departing the UK for 80th-anniversary commemorations in northern France.

Aviramp holds the Queen’s Award for International Trade. Its boarding ramps and bridges provide a safe alternative to stairs and separate ambulifts for wheelchair users and passengers with reduced mobility when an aircraft is parked on a remote stand. The low-angled ramps feature a unique non-slip surface enhancing safety for all passengers.
