Mallaghan, a prominent manufacturer of airport ground support equipment (GSE), has raised $20,000 for charity through its 2nd Annual Shamrock Classic Golf Tournament. The event took place at White Oak Golf Club in Newnan, Georgia, and brought together sponsors, clients, employees, and friends. All funds raised were donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, BYRD House, Frayed Edges Foundation, and Hunter Scarbrough.

The Annual Shamrock Classic Golf Tournament was established in 2022 to commemorate Shane MacMahon, a valued Mallaghan colleague who tragically lost his life to suicide. Niall Mallaghan, Director and Co-Owner at Mallaghan stated: "The Shamrock Classic Golf Tournament is more than just a golfing event; it is a tribute to Shane MacMahon and a testament to Mallaghan’s commitment to championing mental health awareness.

"Supporting causes that make a tangible impact is an extremely important aspect of the work we do at Mallaghan," he continued. "We are thrilled to have raised $20,000 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, BYRD House, Frayed Edges Foundation and Hunter Scarbrough. We have no doubt that this donation will go a long way towards helping our nominated charities continue the important work that they do to make a positive difference in our community."

Key sponsors for the event included Delta Air Lines, Waters Truck and Tractor, Xced and Averest. Joe Griffith, Chief Commercial Officer at Mallaghan added: "We are very grateful for the generosity of our sponsors and all members of the Mallaghan team who worked together to make our 2nd Annual Shamrock Classic Golf Tournament such an enjoyable occasion. I would also like to extend our thanks to the White Oak Golf Club for hosting such a memorable event. We look forward to continuing this tradition and raising the bar long into the future."

Brian Lesch, director of sales and business development at Averest commented: "At Averest, we believe giving to mental health charities is not only about helping individuals in need but also about fostering a more supportive and understanding society. We hope our donation can help make an impact on the lives affected by this disease and help broaden improvements in mental health care and awareness."

Event sponsor Waters Truck and Tractor noted: "Waters Trucks is proud to partner with Mallaghan in supporting these great charities. In our over 16-year relationship with Mallaghan, we have come to understand how important these charities are not only to Mallaghan but even more importantly to those affected by mental health struggles. We commend them for their contributions toward making a difference in mental health care and look forward to continuing support in the future."

The 3rd Annual Shamrock Classic Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday Oct. 18 at White Oak Golf Club. Interested parties can visit birdease.com/2024mallaghanshamrockclassic or contact [email protected] for further information.
