A company offering maintenance and repair services, along with flight training operations, has opened at Chicago Executive Airport (CEA), providing airport tenants a unique service as CEA continues to grow its suite of facilities. WAir will offer full-service, on-site piston maintenance for CEA tenants out of Hangar 10, operating under a lease agreement with long-time CEA Fixed Based Operator Signature Aviation.

“We are excited to welcome WAir to Chicago Executive Airport,” said Jeffrey Miller, Executive Director of CEA. “Our focus is continuing to offer our tenants exceptional experiences and support services, and WAir provides a unique opportunity for MRO services right here at our airport.”

With the addition of WAir, CEA tenants and aircraft owners will have access to maintenance services including annual 100-hour inspections, oil changes, and unscheduled repairs. Additionally, WAir will offer flight training at all levels through its Redbird FMXS Simulator and modern fleet of Cessna 172 Aircraft.

WAir CEO and Co-Founder Daniel Wirt said he set out to develop a company that provides top-level service and premier aviation education. WAir employs two full-time maintenance technicians with over 30 years of combined experience, as well as three flight instructors who provide education using a proprietary program developed and implemented internally by its Chief Pilot.

“My dream has always been a company that seeks to put the needs of the greater aviation community first, so I am beyond excited for this partnership,” said Wirt. “At CEA, there is so much potential for growth, not only for WAir and the airport but for the aviation community as a whole.”

WAir will host an open house for the public at its facility at 1071 S. Wolf Road, Hangar 10 Bay 4 on Saturday, April 9 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
