Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (CNA) in Little Rock, Arkansas, has received three new Oshkosh Airport Products Striker® 4x4 Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles. The upgrade was completed in April 2024, replacing the entire fleet of frontline ARFF vehicles.

The new additions include two Striker 4x4 ARFF vehicles equipped with roof turrets and one featuring a Snozzle® high-reach extendable turret (HRET), enhancing firefighting capabilities. These vehicles were selected for their innovative technology and reliability. A key feature highlighted by the airport emergency response crew is the Driver Enhanced Vision System (DEVS), which provides live flight data and assists drivers in poor visibility conditions through navigation, tracking, and vision enhancement components.

The Striker 4x4 vehicles have a water capacity of 1,500 gallons, 222 gallons of fluorine-free foam, and a dry chemical capacity of 550 pounds. The fluorine-free foam system aligns with modern safety and environmental standards. The fleet's optimization with 4x4 capabilities ensures rapid response times for effective aircraft rescue operations.

"Our ARFF crews are excited to welcome the new Oshkosh Airport Products Striker vehicles into service," said Eric Hildreth, Battalion Chief with the Little Rock Fire Department. "The advanced technology, cockpit ergonomics, operational performance, and accessibility of ongoing service support for the life of our apparatus were key factors in our decision."

Service and maintenance for the new vehicles will be supported by Siddons-Martin Emergency Group’s Global ARFF Services division. This division offers comprehensive solutions including inspections, maintenance, custom upgrades, personnel training, and certification.

“We are honored to have been selected for the fleet upgrade at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport," said Jack Bermingham, business unit director at Oshkosh Airport Products. "Our team is dedicated to providing top-quality service and training."

The Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Division at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport responds to aircraft incidents and provides emergency medical assistance as first responders. The division operates state-of-the-art emergency response vehicles around the clock throughout the year.
