BermudAir, a boutique airline connecting Bermuda with US and Canadian East Coast destinations, anticipates the delivery of its new ‘Aisle Class’ business seats by the end of 2024. The airline is still finalizing the layout of passenger accommodations (LOPA) for its two Embraer E175 aircraft.

Currently, BermudAir offers a total of 66 seats in a dual-class, 2-2 configuration: 52 seats in economy and 14 in business, with adjacent seats blocked off to create a EuroBiz-style business class product aboard the E175s. However, custom business class seating remains under consideration. Company founder and CEO Adam Scott noted that the airline expects the Aisle Class-branded seats to arrive before year-end but has not yet decided on the number of these seats for the business class cabin.

In addition to providing "ample legroom," Scott stated that the Aisle Class seats would offer passengers "a private space that includes a personal work console, in-seat charging, and privacy wall in an all-aisle seat 1:1 configuration."

BermudAir collaborated with design firm Factorydesign to create these business seats for its E175s. This innovation won a Crystal Cabin Award for Cabin Concepts.

Since commencing operations over ten months ago, BermudAir has refined its business strategy. An initial plan to offer all-Aisle Class seating in a 1-1 layout was abandoned due to strong demand from Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport. The airline currently serves several destinations including Baltimore/Washington (BWI), Boston Logan, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Orlando International, New York’s Westchester County Airport, Toronto Pearson, and Halifax Stanfield.

The airline has expanded its fare offerings to five types across economy and business classes from the previous three. Senior Vice President of Sales and Distribution Leslie Peden explained: “We’ve added Economy Max to our Economy Light and Economy Classic options and introduced Business Light alongside Business.” These fare types provide varying levels of booking flexibility and baggage allowances.

When asked if BermudAir will change its fare structure once the new business class seats are introduced, Scott responded: “We have no plans to alter the enhanced fare structure once the new seats are added.”

All passengers can access AirFi wireless IFE on board the E175s. Content such as Hollywood movies, TV shows, a moving map, podcasts, and more is streamed via aircraft-powered AirFi units. Additionally, Scott emphasized their commitment to delivering premium inflight experiences with complimentary food and beverage service available in both cabins.

Recently, BermudAir selected IFPL Group’s Cobalt Spectrum LED drop-in mood lighting for its E175s to illuminate interiors with brand colors.
