November 1-3 marks this year's ZorkFest in Las Vegas. Last year, the event took place in Reno, which was less convenient but still offered a beautiful setting. The sessions were held in a suite with historical significance, as it was where a future President first interacted with a porn star who later became widely known.

This year's event will be hosted at the Horseshoe, the original MGM Grand, providing a classic Vegas atmosphere. Having enjoyed last year's experience, I have agreed to participate again.

ZorkFest features a mix of beginner and advanced sessions on miles and points, as well as casino loyalty programs. Although my expertise in casino loyalty is limited, I find these sessions informative for learning about manufacturing casino status and maximizing comps. The event also includes optional group gaming and hands-on training from experts on playing craps and blackjack in a "judgment-free zone." As an intermediate-level player of both games, I believe mentoring could enhance my confidence and enjoyment.

The event is smaller and slightly more upscale than many miles and points gatherings but remains accessible to many. Tickets are still available at their Early Bird price. It should be noted that I receive no benefit from ticket sales; my only gain would be the opportunity to meet attendees at an event I thoroughly enjoyed last year. An optional room block is also available.
