Atlanta has 52% of global Boeing 757 passenger flights in August, primarily due to Delta Air Lines, the world's largest 757 operator. Delta averages 151 daily departures from Atlanta on this aircraft type, covering 53 destinations. In August, over 130 airports globally will have scheduled passenger Boeing 757 flights. All variants of the Boeing 757 will operate just one in every 141 narrowbody services worldwide, a figure that rises to one in every 31 in the US due to its use by Delta, United Airlines, and Icelandair.

Analysis of Cirium data reveals that Atlanta accounts for an impressive 52% of the twin-engine aircraft's August passenger flights. According to ch-aviation, Delta still operates 121 Boeing 757s: 105 are the -200 model and 16 are the -300 model. These planes average 26.7 years old and were recently refurbished. They may remain operational for another decade before being replaced. The fact that they are paid off—unlike newer alternatives—will be crucial.

When combined, Atlanta has a median of 151 daily departures on the Boeing 757-200 and -300 models in August. This represents a significant increase from pre-pandemic levels in August 2019 when there were only 98 daily departures. This rise has contributed to an increase in Delta's seats per flight at Atlanta from an average of 143 to 165.

In comparison, Newark ranks second globally with an average of 31 daily departures on the Boeing type, while Los Angeles International ranks third with an average of 25 daily departures.

Of the total daily departures from Atlanta on this aircraft type, approximately nine destinations including Detroit, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Orlando, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Tampa will see operations using the higher-capacity Boeing 757-300 model.

In August alone, destinations such as Anchorage; Bogotá; Bonaire; Bozeman; Guatemala City; Jackson Hole; Orange County; Reno; San Jose (Costa Rica); St Maarten; and St Thomas will exclusively see operations using either variant of this aircraft type due to its take-off performance suitable for short runways at some airports.

Several other destinations like Miami; Norfolk; Quito; and Richmond will also predominantly use this aircraft type but not exclusively so.

The shortest route served by Delta's Boeing fleet is between Atlanta and Savannah (186 nautical miles), while the longest is between Atlanta and Anchorage (2,969 nautical miles).

While changes might occur throughout August regarding flight schedules or routes served by these aircraft types:

- Aruba

- Bonaire

- Liberia (August only)

- Pensacola

- St Lucia

- Providenciales

These destinations are expected to have fewer than ten scheduled departures using this aircraft type throughout August compared with forty other destinations which maintain a minimum daily service utilizing these models from Atlanta.
