Air Canada Aeroplan has announced a new partnership with Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings, expanding award travel options across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Despite being a Lufthansa Group carrier, Eurowings is not part of Star Alliance. The airline was formerly associated with Lufthansa Regional and should not be confused with Discover Airlines, previously known as Eurowings Discover. Discover Airlines operates low-cost long-haul flights under the legal name EW Discover.

Currently, Eurowings operates approximately 100 Airbus narrowbody aircraft, featuring small business class cabins in addition to economy class. The airline services destinations including Albania, Croatia, Cyprus, as well as Lyon, Marseille, Nice, and Paris in France. Additionally, it flies to 11 locations in Greece and 15 each in Italy and Spain.

Award pricing for flights will adhere to Aeroplan’s standard chart. Furthermore, Eurowings flights can be combined with other airlines for awards booked online.

Aeroplan boasts more airline partners than any other frequent flyer program. While Star Alliance remains the largest network within Aeroplan's portfolio, the program also collaborates directly with numerous carriers outside of this alliance.
