Big Island Jet Center is celebrating a significant milestone in its operations, having sold its one millionth gallon of fuel this July. This achievement comes within seven months of the FBO’s grand opening and before the completion of its permanent terminal, which is expected to be finished in Q3 2025.

“We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment, especially in such a short amount of time,” said Tom Owen, general manager of Big Island Jet Center. “Our temporary facility has been incredibly well-received, and we are excited about what the future will bring. The BIJC team is honored to serve its community and is humbled by the opportunity to continue fueling guests’ adventures each day.”

Located at Kailua-Kona’s Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (PHKO), Big Island Jet Center celebrated its grand opening in December 2023. As the only independent FBO with exclusive parking, BIJC is currently booking its last few parking opportunities for the 2024 holiday season.

Big Island Jet Center’s early success highlights the services, amenities, and customer care it offers. These features will expand with the anticipated opening of its modern terminal.

To enhance its focus on a resort-style customer experience, Big Island Jet Center’s new terminal will provide a Pacific oasis showcasing a true “Aloha Spirit” while offering cutting-edge amenities and services, including luxurious waiting areas, well-appointed restrooms, and rentable office space.

Currently operating out of a temporary terminal, the FBO offers more than nine acres of parking space and planeside vehicle access; a 50,000-gallon jet fuel storage facility; indoor and outdoor passenger seating; a pristine lobby with luxury accommodations; and full services including ground handling, towing, USDA inspections, and catering.

In partnership with Avfuel Corporation—the leading independent supplier of aviation fuel and services—Big Island Jet Center continues to offer competitive rates with Avfuel Contract Fuel, streamlined processing with the Avfuel Pro Card, and lucrative rewards with AVTRIP.
