Hyatt is offering temporary status to its members with American Airlines status, providing an opportunity to maintain and upgrade this status through February 2026.

As in previous years, American Airlines reciprocates with similar offers for Hyatt elites. In their announcement, Hyatt noted an AAdvantage offer for World of Hyatt elites that includes temporary AAdvantage status. However, details were limited: “select AAdvantage® members who have linked their World of Hyatt and AAdvantage® accounts may see an exclusive offer in the promotions tab within their AAdvantage® account on aa.com.”

This lack of detail was intentional. An American Airlines representative stated that the AAdvantage “offer is an Instant Status Pass offer and as you know, we can’t share details on ISPs.”

The program appears consistent with past offerings: four months of American AAdvantage status, with engagement required to maintain or upgrade it.

Logging into my own account did not reveal any offers, likely because I am already a Hyatt Globalist and American Executive Platinum member. However, expected offers for other Hyatt elites include:

- Explorists receive four months of Platinum (requiring at least 25,000 Loyalty Points to retain it)

- Globalists receive four months of Platinum Pro (requiring at least 42,000 Loyalty Points to retain it)

- Either group can earn at least 67,000 Loyalty Points in the first four months to achieve Executive Platinum status

Under the ‘Instant Status Pass’ program, continuous earning during the second four-month period is necessary to maintain status.

A Hyatt Globalist receiving Platinum Pro (oneworld Emerald) might lose all status after four months without sufficient activity but could be downgraded to Platinum or upgraded based on loyalty points earned in the subsequent period.

Registration is required by September 5, 2024. Timing registration based on your potential loyalty points earnings during the promotion period or upcoming American Airlines flights may be beneficial.

Hyatt elites are encouraged to share any offers received when linking accounts with American Airlines AAdvantage. Offers should be communicated via email and available in your AAdvantage account.

Despite finding American’s offers complex overall, many Hyatt elites may find value in them—either for short-term benefits or longer-term advantages due to easy loyalty point generation through credit card spending and online shopping. There is no fee associated with these offers through the Hyatt partnership.
