A Delta Air Lines passenger left their seat in a disorderly state after a flight on Monday. The seat was found with food waste, brown smears, a ripped-up safety card, and what appeared to be tiny versions of the Bolivian flag scattered around. The passenger reportedly left at the end of the flight without addressing the mess.

In a post shared by Reddit user "whaambaamtymaam" in the Delta subreddit, it was suggested that the seat may have been occupied by a child. "The brown left behind on the seat doesn’t seem to be chocolate or a lavatory accident. I think it’s peanut butter?" they speculated. The user emphasized that while children can be messy, responsible parents should clean up after them.

Traveling with children poses challenges, but preparation can mitigate issues. Ensuring flight times align with children's schedules and bringing appropriate entertainment are key strategies. Instances like this highlight the importance of tidying up during flights whenever possible.

There have been similar incidents in recent years involving children making messes on flights. Last year, a mother allowed her child to draw on a Delta Air Lines seat using erasable markers. A flight attendant expressed concern about whether the drawings would come off.

Another case involved a United Airlines passenger who discovered children's drawings on their tray table during a flight to Saint Martin. Anita Dolce Vita tweeted about her experience: "This @united flight was giving @SpiritAirlines Flight attendants were rude, a fight broke out, and surely no one bothered to clean my tray."

An Instagram post from December 2018 by "Passenger Shaming" also highlighted an incident where children drew on tray tables using non-erasable markers.

Ultimately, passengers are reminded not to assume someone else will clean up after them, especially given quick turnaround times for domestic flights in the U.S., which often leave little time for thorough cleaning between flights.
