Australia flew Olympic medalists home from Paris in business class. Their youngest-ever gold winner, 14-year-old Arisa Trew, declined the upgrade, preferring to stay with her teammates in coach.

Arisa Trew is the youngest Australian Olympic medalist, surpassing Sandra Morgan who won swimming gold in 1956 at the age of 14 years and 183 days. Arisa won Skateboard Park gold at the age of 14 years and 86 days.

American Express plans to open a Centurion lounge next year in Salt Lake City airport’s B concourse. It will be around 16,000 square feet. Amex began building their own lounges in major cities where they lacked partner lounges, especially as they lost partnerships due to mergers and exclusive deals those airlines did with their co-brand credit card partners (e.g., losing Continental, US Airways, and American). However, they pivoted to also building lounges in Delta hubs – their cards were overflowing Delta’s lounges, and this became part of their deal with Delta.

A pilot has sued United Airlines for failing to provide him with gluten-free meals as a disability accommodation for celiac disease. He claims he has to pay for his own food while other pilots have theirs provided.

A captain had to give ground rules to passengers that were being rowdy on board a TUI 787 bound for Tenerife. The video was filmed by a passenger on August 9 before taking off from Glasgow Airport. The flight took off to Tenerife, Spain. There were no reports of disruptive behavior after the announcement.
