Lufthansa has unveiled a new premium lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport’s Terminal B, offering multifunctional spaces tailored to the diverse needs of its passengers. The 6,370 square feet lounge dedicates one-third of its area to business and working needs, featuring universal power outlets, USB A and C ports, wireless charging stations, and two private rooms for calls and meetings.

Victoria Schuster, Lufthansa's head of product, emphasized the lounge's design caters to both solo travelers and groups. "No matter if you’re traveling alone as a passenger or as a group, you will find hopefully a spot where you can relax and enjoy our lounge," she said.

The facility is available to First Class, Business Class, HON Circle members, and Senator passengers from Lufthansa Group airlines including Austrian Airlines and SWISS. Star Alliance members Air Canada, SAS, and United also operate internationally from Terminal B.

Lufthansa senior director Dr. Jessica Scheibach highlighted the variety of seating options available: "We’re trying to really accommodate everybody because we have a wide array of guests."

The lounge includes elements from Lufthansa’s Allegris longhaul product line in its First Class dining room with light oak paneling design and dark blue leather upholstery.

A $10 million redesign increased the lounge's capacity by 25%, now accommodating 165 guests. The 'skyline' bar creates a vibrant atmosphere upon entry. Kitzig Design Studios International led the project with contributions from 30 Newark-area companies.

Schuster noted local touches in the design and dining options like New Jersey craft beer. Looking ahead, Dr. Scheibach mentioned plans for more flexible seating arrangements in future projects at Washington Dulles and New York JFK airports.

Dirk Janzen stated that Lufthansa Group is investing 2.5 billion euros into product enhancements through 2025: “The quality of the overall customer experience...is of utmost importance to us.”
