GE Aerospace has selected Triumph Group’s Geared Solutions business to supply the auxiliary gearbox for the F404 afterburning turbofan engine. The potential future applications include the Boeing T7-A Red Hawk, Korea Aerospace T-50 Golden Eagle, and Turkish Aerospace Hürjet platforms.
Triumph Geared Solutions president Pete Gibson commented on the sole-source award: “This is the latest chapter in a great legacy of our supporting GE Aerospace engine applications.”
The work will be carried out at Triumph's facility in Macomb, Michigan. Radnor, Pennsylvania-based Triumph has been providing GE Aerospace with proprietary and build-to-print projects across multiple applications for decades. The company has served as a longstanding engineering and manufacturing partner with GE on both military and commercial gearbox applications.
