A Southwest Airlines tug crashed through a wall and into an employee break room at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Monday. A social media user commented, “did someone say there’s fresh doughnuts in the ready room!!?”

Airport tugs are known to malfunction periodically. Often, an employee may detect an issue towards the end of their shift but neglect to tag it for maintenance. This can lead to dangerous situations; last summer, a malfunctioning tug was initially suspected in the death of a ramp worker, though an investigation later determined that no mechanical failure had occurred.
