The Lufthansa Group is set to enhance its connectivity to Berlin Brandenburg Airport with a new direct flight to Geneva. Starting October 28, SWISS will operate daily flights from BER to Geneva. Additionally, Eurowings has expanded its services at BER in 2024, increasing its destinations from Berlin to 30 locations across Europe and the Gulf region over the past six months. Passenger volume has more than doubled since the pandemic.
Next winter, Eurowings will reintroduce its nonstop Berlin-Dubai connection, increasing frequency from four times a week to daily starting October 2024. This expansion will see an additional Eurowings aircraft stationed at BER, bringing the total number of aircraft to seven. Furthermore, Eurowings plans to add Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to its winter schedule with three weekly flights from Berlin. The airline also aims to further expand its network from Berlin in 2025.
The Lufthansa Group maintains a leading market position in Berlin. Its airlines—Austrian, Brussels, Eurowings, Lufthansa, and SWISS—currently operate around 27 percent of all flights at BER. With approximately 500 flights per week, the Lufthansa Group connects the capital region non-stop to 36 destinations and offers access to over 300 destinations worldwide with just one transfer.
