Felipe Bonifatti, Lufthansa Group Vice President Asia Pacific & Joint Ventures East | Official Website

Lufthansa Group has announced the appointment of Felipe Bonifatti as Vice President Asia Pacific & Joint Ventures East. Based in Singapore, Bonifatti will oversee all commercial activities, including Joint Venture sales, in the Asia Pacific region starting November 1, 2024.

Felipe Bonifatti was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina and holds dual nationality with Spain. He graduated from the German school in Mar del Plata and earned both a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the National University. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Belgrano in Argentina.

Bonifatti began his aviation career in 1992 and has held various senior positions within Lufthansa Group across Latin America, Africa, and the Caribbean. His roles included General Manager Equatorial Guinea & Sao Tome and Principe, General Manager Colombia, Ecuador & Peru—where he received the Order of Alexander von Humboldt by the Colombian Parliament—and General Manager Central America & the Caribbean.

In his role as General Manager Central America & the Caribbean, Bonifatti opened Lufthansa Group's first operation in Central America and led its expansion into the Caribbean region. He also served as Senior Director Head of Sales Mexico, Central America & Caribbean before becoming Senior Director South America & Caribbean based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Frank Naeve, Senior Vice President Sales & Distribution at Lufthansa Group stated: "Felipe Bonifatti brings a wealth of experience to the role of Lufthansa Group Vice President Asia Pacific & Joint Ventures East, and I am personally very excited to have him on board. As one of our most senior executives in the Americas I am confident he will deliver on our ambitious growth plans for the Asia Pacific region."

Bonifatti speaks German, English, Portuguese, and Spanish. He is married with two children and looks forward to expanding Lufthansa Group's presence in Asia Pacific.

The Lufthansa Group is an aviation group operating worldwide with over 100,000 employees. In 2023 it generated revenue of €35.4 billion. Its largest business segment is Passenger Airlines; other key segments include Logistics and Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO). The group also includes IT companies and Lufthansa Aviation Training among other components.
