Federal Express Corporation, conocida mundialmente como FedEx, ha inaugurado unas nuevas instalaciones en Málaga. Estas instalaciones se encuentran en el polígono industrial de Santa Teresa, el principal centro logístico de la ciudad. La apertura marca una expansión significativa de la capacidad operativa de FedEx en la región.

La nueva estación cuenta con un espacio de almacén que abarca 3.244 metros cuadrados, lo que representa un aumento de 1.175 metros cuadrados respecto a su ubicación anterior. Además, incluye 300 metros cuadrados adicionales destinados a oficinas modernas distribuidas en dos plantas. Con una infraestructura mejorada y estacionamiento exterior, la estación ahora puede manejar hasta 1.500 paquetes por hora gracias a su capacidad triplicada de clasificación.

La instalación también dispone de 29 muelles de carga, siete de los cuales están especialmente diseñados para remolques, camiones y furgonetas. Esto facilita el procesamiento eficiente de envíos más grandes.

Ian Silverton, Managing Director of Ground Operations para FedEx España y Portugal, declaró: “La nueva estación de Málaga es una inversión importante en nuestras capacidades operativas, que nos permite gestionar mayores volúmenes y mejorar la eficiencia, tanto dentro del almacén como en nuestras rutas de distribución”. Añadió que esta instalación está estratégicamente ubicada con fácil acceso a las principales autopistas de Málaga.

FedEx Express mantiene una fuerte presencia en España con cinco gateways aéreos situados en Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Valencia y Vitoria; además posee dos hubs terrestres en Madrid y Barcelona junto con 26 estaciones operativas repartidas por todo el país.
