Ritz-Carlton is set to make a comeback in Cancun with a new property opening in 2027. The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun, Punta Nizuc will be situated just ten minutes from the airport and will feature 131 rooms and suites along with 126 branded residences. This development is a collaboration between FibraHotel, Fibra Danhos, and Beyond Ventures.
The resort will include an oceanfront pool complex, a spa, and six restaurant and bar outlets. Brian King, president of Caribbean & Latin America at Marriott International, expressed enthusiasm about the project: "Marriott is thrilled to bring The Ritz-Carlton brand back to Cancun, as we continue aiming to meet the growing demand for luxury travel experiences and world-class branded residences."
Ritz-Carlton's initial presence in Cancun began in 1993 when it became the first hotel outside of the U.S. under its brand. In 2022, the original hotel was rebranded as Kempinski Hotel Cancun due to competition from newer luxury hotels offering updated amenities.
