The Regent Santa Monica Beach hotel has opened its doors, marking the return of the ultraluxury Regent brand to the United States. This new flagship location in Santa Monica offers guests a chance to experience the updated aesthetic that has been captivating travelers in Europe and Asia.

Younes Atallah, general manager of Regent Santa Monica Beach, expressed excitement about reintroducing the brand to Southern California. "It is an honor to reintroduce this legacy brand to Southern California and ignite a new era of unforgettable memories for our guests in Santa Monica," he said. The resort promises a serene setting where guests can enjoy Regent's renowned hospitality.

Tom Rowntree, IHG's vice president of global luxury and lifestyle brands, also commented on the opening: "As we open the doors to Regent Santa Monica Beach, we celebrate not only the homecoming of Regent to the Americas but a new chapter for the brand that will usher in an unprecedented level of luxury along Santa Monica's prized coast."

The hotel features 167 guest rooms and suites with Pacific Ocean views. Entry-level rooms start at 720 square feet, significantly larger than those at IHG's InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. The design direction was led by Chantell Walsh of Strategic Hotels & Resorts with contributions from AvroKO's San Francisco studio.

Guests will find amenities such as spacious bathrooms with soaking tubs and rain showers, dining areas, workstations, Bose speakers, and Dyson hair dryers. The Presidential Suite offers 3,200 square feet of living space with panoramic ocean views.

Dining options include chef Michael Mina's Mediterranean-inspired Orla and Orla Bar, Sweet July Cafe by Ayesha Curry, and Azure Bar by the poolside. The Guerlain Wellness Spa provides a luxurious retreat with treatment rooms and relaxation lounges.

The opening comes as part of IHG's broader expansion strategy for its Regent brand with future locations planned in Jeddah and Kyoto.

Rates at Regent Santa Monica Beach begin at $1,100 or 170,000 IHG One Rewards points per night.
