Marriott International and MGM Resorts are set to introduce the W Hotels brand to the Mandalay Bay complex on the Las Vegas Strip. The new W Las Vegas will replace the current Delano hotel tower, marking a significant change for Accor's Ennismore lifestyle hotel collective, which includes the Delano brand. The conversion is expected to be completed later this year.

"This agreement is a pivotal moment in our collaboration, which continues to expand hospitality and entertainment offerings for guests. As a luxury brand rooted in bold design and nightlife, W Hotels is well-positioned to elevate experiences for travelers in this destination."

The transition follows more than a year after Marriott and MGM Resorts announced their strategic partnership, which officially commenced earlier this year. Steve Zanella, president of MGM Resorts operations, commented, "Our relationship with Marriott has far exceeded our expectations, demonstrating the power of its brand portfolio and the strength of their distribution channels. W Las Vegas, the latest hotel to come to life as part of our collaboration, will allow our guests to access a new luxury lifestyle experience recognized worldwide for its distinct personality, dynamic programming and elevated service culture."

With W Las Vegas joining the portfolio, MGM Resorts-Marriott partnership will feature 12 locations on the Las Vegas Strip. These include properties like Bellagio, Aria Resort & Casino, and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

While specific details about the upcoming W Las Vegas conversion remain sparse, Marriott indicates that "additional plans for the property" are being developed post-name change. Guests staying at W Las Vegas can expect similar experiences as those offered by Delano but with opportunities to earn Marriott Bonvoy points.

In addition to this changeover at Mandalay Bay, NoMad Las Vegas within Park MGM campus is also anticipated to rebrand soon as it aligns with Hilton.

The conversion represents a temporary setback for Accor and Ennismore in maintaining Delano's presence in its home country. Currently available only in Paris and Dubai following its origin as a unique concept on Miami's South Beach.

Marriott Bonvoy members will have an additional venue in Sin City where they can earn and redeem points through this partnership with MGM Resorts.
