Gulfstream Aerospace has officially inaugurated its expanded service center at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport in Georgia. The facility, named Savannah Service Center East, spans 137,000 square feet and represents a $150 million investment. This expansion is set to create over 200 new jobs and enhance Gulfstream's maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities in the region.

Derek Zimmerman, president of Gulfstream Customer Support, commented on the development: “We continue to expand and enhance our service capabilities in support of the continued growth of Gulfstream’s next-generation fleet, including the recently certified G700.” He further noted that this expansion is part of a strategic plan to build a modern and sustainable service network while improving access for customers.

The new building complements Gulfstream's existing facilities at the airport by providing additional hangar space, offices, and back shops. This increases the total service footprint at the airport to 1.1 million square feet and allows for simultaneous accommodation of up to 85 aircraft—26 more than previously possible.

The facility is also expected to achieve LEED Silver certification due to its sustainable construction practices, including recycling at least 75% of construction waste.

Zimmerman added: “Savannah, home to Gulfstream’s worldwide headquarters, is now our largest global service center location—this expansion ensures our dedicated team is equipped with the resources needed to further support our customers.”

Gulfstream's customer support network extends beyond Savannah with new facilities in Van Nuys, California; Appleton, Wisconsin; Fort Worth, Texas; Palm Beach, Florida; and Farnborough in the UK. A new service center in Mesa, Arizona is anticipated to open later this year.
