Private equity firm Kompass Kapital has announced a strategic investment in Airshare, a private aviation company. Both companies are based in Kansas City. With this investment, Kompass Kapital will lead the Airshare ownership group, while previous investors will retain significant equity positions. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Airshare CEO John Owen expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership, stating, "We are thrilled to have Kompass Kapital join the Airshare ownership group and strongly believe its investment will have a material impact on our future." He emphasized that when seeking capital to support their strategic goals, they found an ideal partner in Kompass Kapital due to their professional and cultural alignment.

Owen further noted that despite receiving considerable interest from other parties, it was clear that Kompass Kapital was the perfect match. He praised their reputation and track record for helping businesses grow and highlighted their successful partnerships with Airshare's legacy ownership group through other investments. "The confidence they've shown in Airshare is extremely validating," he added.

Bradley Berger, managing partner at Kompass Kapital, also shared his excitement about the collaboration. "We invest in people, and when evaluating the potential of any opportunity, we start with company leadership," he said. Berger commended Airshare's executive team for their vision to expand strategically across geography, fleet size, and customer base. He described the growth prospects as encouraging and stated that Airshare is uniquely positioned to capture more market share.

The companies have characterized this investment as part of a "transformative year for Airshare." Following its acquisition of Wheels Up's aircraft management business in September, Airshare doubled its workforce to nearly 600 employees and expanded its fleet to approximately 150 aircraft, making it one of the largest fleet operators in the United States.
