An 18-day strike at Bombardier's production facility located at Toronto Pearson Airport has concluded. The work stoppage, which affected the assembly of the Global 5500, 6500, and 7500 jets, ended after 1,350 unionized workers voted in favor of a new three-year collective agreement. These employees are represented by Unifor Locals 112 and 673.

The ratified agreement includes a 12.5% wage increase over the duration of the contract. Additionally, it enhances pension contributions and ensures improved job security through commitments for all members working on the Global fleet, including the upcoming Model 8000 and any future derivatives.

Lana Payne, Unifor's national president, emphasized the importance of securing an agreement that acknowledges "our members' skills, hard work, and dedication which have made Bombardier’s Global jet program so successful." She expressed pride in achieving "a landmark agreement that delivers a substantial economic package at a time when aerospace workers need it most."

Bombardier released a statement confirming its commitment to the Toronto site and expressed optimism about resuming normal assembly operations today. The company had inaugurated its $500 million aircraft production facility earlier in May.
