Global business jet activity last week mirrored the levels seen a year ago, according to WingX, a JetNet subsidiary. Part 135 and Part 91K operations showed a 4% increase. Year-to-date, global jet and turboprop usage is down by 2% compared to the same period in 2023 but remains significantly higher than pre-Covid figures.

In the United States, over the Fourth of July weekend, there were 19,166 business jet departures, marking an 8% rise from the previous year's holiday period. Fractional flights also increased by nearly 800 to more than 4,600 during this time. Florida led with 4,176 business jet departures, followed by Texas and California.

European business jet activity declined by 3% compared to last year. Germany bucked this trend with a 6% increase due to events like the UEFA Euro Tournament. The UK saw a similar rise of 3%, attributed to hosting major events such as Wimbledon and the UK F1 Grand Prix.

"Week 27 almost exactly matched Week 27 in 2023, with variable geographic trends," said Richard Koe, WingX managing director. He noted that U.S. activity was particularly strong in Part 135 and Part 91K operations despite declines in June. In contrast, Europe's decline was mainly observed in private and corporate sectors.
