Caroline Lascom Senior editor | The Points Guy

I've maintained a collection of over 20 credit cards for several years, diligently maximizing their benefits. Recently, I added the Frontier Airlines World Mastercard® to my wallet, and it's proving its worth.

"The information for the Frontier Airlines Mastercard has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer."

The Frontier Airlines Mastercard offers a welcome bonus that caught my attention. New cardholders can earn 50,000 miles after spending $500 and paying the annual fee within 90 days of account opening. "No, it's not going to get me a business-class flight to Europe," but it is valued at $550 according to TPG's October 2024 valuations.

I utilized these miles for an award flight from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to Orlando International Airport (MCO), saving money on what would have been a $133.98 ticket per person.

Additionally, the card provides instant Elite Gold status after the first purchase within 90 days. This status includes benefits such as no change fees and complimentary seat assignments. "Selecting any seat on Frontier can be pricey — but my Gold status includes standard seats at no charge."

My recent experience involved booking a flight to Indianapolis International Airport (IND), where I benefited from price drops twice before canceling due to Hurricane Milton.

Even without Gold status, the card offers perks like non-expiring miles with annual purchases and redemption fee waivers starting at $5.60 per passenger for one-way fares. Furthermore, cardholders receive two free checked bags limited to 40 pounds each.

The card's benefits are available for an annual fee of $99, making it a valuable addition for frequent travelers from airports serviced by Frontier.
