FedEx Corp. has released its annual report detailing the company's impact on the global economy for the fiscal year 2024. The report, developed in collaboration with Dun & Bradstreet, highlights what is referred to as the "FedEx Effect," which describes how FedEx's global network contributes to economic growth by facilitating the flow of goods and ideas.

Raj Subramaniam, President and CEO of FedEx Corporation, stated, “Wizją FedEx jest uczynienie łańcuchów dostaw inteligentniejszymi dla wszystkich. Wykorzystujemy do tego zaawansowane technologie, tak aby lepiej służyć klientom, równocześnie zwiększając w ten sposób nasz zasięg i wpływ.” He emphasized that this commitment is central to enhancing service quality and supporting community growth.

The report reveals that FedEx's direct contribution to the global economy exceeded $85 billion in fiscal year 2024, representing about 0.1% of total global net economic output. This figure underscores FedEx's logistical capabilities and ongoing efforts to innovate services that connect businesses with customers worldwide. With a presence in over 220 countries and territories and employing more than 500,000 people across more than 5,000 locations, FedEx handles an average of 16 million packages daily.

FedEx's contributions extend beyond direct impacts; its operations create additional economic activity through relationships within various sectors of the global economy. It is estimated that in fiscal year 2024, FedEx indirectly contributed $39 billion to global net economic output, with significant influence on transportation and warehousing sectors.

Wouter Roels, President of FedEx Europe, commented on their role: “W FedEx utrzymujemy świat w ruchu i jesteśmy dumni z naszego wkładu w rozwój takich branż jak technologia, energetyka, opieka medyczna i farmacja.” He noted the significance of their hub at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Key areas highlighted in the report include trade policy support aimed at market access expansion; operational developments such as new facilities at Dubai World Central Airport; sustainability initiatives like renewable energy investments; support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs); supply chain engagements with small businesses; and community involvement through programs like FedEx Cares.

In Europe specifically, FedEx continues to drive economic activity through comprehensive networks connecting European businesses globally via their hub at Charles de Gaulle Airport. In fiscal year 2024 alone, they directly impacted $10 billion or approximately 0.4% of Europe's transport sector net output.

Investments such as new facilities in Dublin and Kielce have bolstered their capacity to meet growing demand across Europe efficiently.
