FedEx Corporation has released its "Global Economic Impact Report" for the fiscal year 2024, highlighting the role of its global transportation network in fostering economic growth. The report, created in collaboration with Dun & Bradstreet, illustrates what FedEx terms the "FedEx Effect," which represents the company's contribution to economic growth by facilitating cargo movement and idea sharing worldwide.

Raj Subramaniam, President and CEO of FedEx Corporation, stated: "FedEx is leveraging advanced data and technology to build smarter supply chains for everyone, delivering great service to our customers and their customers. The 'FedEx Effect' symbolizes our outstanding service, economic growth, and contributions to the communities where we live and work."

The report indicates that FedEx contributed over $85 billion directly to the global economy in 2024, representing approximately 0.1% of the world's net economic output. This impact reflects FedEx's extensive transportation network and its commitment to providing innovative services that enhance business logistics across companies of all sizes. FedEx operates one of the largest transportation networks globally, serving over 220 countries and territories with more than 500,000 employees handling an average of 16 million packages daily.

In the Asia-Pacific region, which includes economically pivotal countries like Japan and China as well as rapidly developing markets such as Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia, FedEx plays a crucial role in promoting commercial activities through its air and ground network spanning 43 countries. In fiscal year 2024, FedEx had a direct impact on the region's transport, storage, and communication sectors equivalent to about 0.2% of net economic production. Additionally, it made an estimated indirect contribution of $1.7 billion to the regional economy.

The influence of FedEx on Asia-Pacific's economy continues to expand.

Trade: FedEx supports trade policies that facilitate market access by connecting people worldwide with opportunities. As nations like Vietnam emerge as global production centers for machinery, semiconductors, textiles among others; FedEx has increased flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Guangzhou’s Asia Pacific Hub four times weekly enhancing regional access.

Transport Operations Enhancement: Expanding its presence across Asia-Pacific; establishing a new regional headquarters in Singapore; doubling sorting capacity at Shenzhen International Gateway; enabling Guangzhou South China Operations Center with three times current gateway capacity—capable of sorting up-to-25k packages per hour—and planning expansion at Taoyuan International Airport’s Farglory Air Cargo Park transshipment center—all catering rising demand efficient large-scale transport solutions.
