Due to rising costs in Hamburg, Condor has announced adjustments to its summer 2025 flight schedule. The airline plans to reduce its operations from Hamburg by 13 percent, cancelling previously planned growth which included additional frequencies and new destinations. Flights to Samos in Greece and Malaga in Spain will be removed entirely, while flights to Kos, Greece will see a significant reduction.

Condor had intended to introduce four new destinations from Hamburg with multiple weekly connections, aiming to enhance the city's connectivity globally. However, these plans have been halted due to cost concerns.

Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor, stated: “We are not only cutting capacity in Hamburg, but also our planned growth in summer 2025 - a logical consequence of the threat of a completely disproportionate increase in charges in Hamburg.” He added that the increased costs necessitate relocating flights and raising prices. This development is particularly regrettable for customers as potential solutions were available but hindered by the airport's unwillingness to negotiate with users.

Gerber, who also serves as President of the Federal Association of German Airlines (BDF), highlighted the need for competitive cost structures at German aviation hubs. “To achieve this, politicians must urgently set the course for a correction,” he emphasized.

Condor ranks as the third largest airline operating from Hamburg, offering flights to vacation spots such as Greece, the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Spanish mainland locations like Madeira and Egypt, Italy's Algarve region, and Turkey.
