Celia Fuller, a book designer from Tuckahoe, New York, has often let her personal interests guide her travel plans. For several years, she attended Formula 1 races in Montreal with friends. "We would return to the same French restaurant every trip and see F1 team members eating there," she shared. "Or run into them in the elevator at our hotel. It was cool."

Fuller has also faced challenges when traveling for events. She intends to visit the Solid Sound Festival in North Adams, Massachusetts next summer. However, Airbnb hosts sometimes cancel existing reservations to relist properties at higher prices once performance dates are announced.

Unplanned overlaps with major events can also disrupt vacations. Travelers might not partake in the festivities but will still face crowds and increased costs.

To help travelers avoid such situations in 2025, here is a list of locations hosting large events:

**Winter 2025**

- **Inauguration Day in Washington, D.C.:** Scheduled for January 20th, coinciding with Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend. Bloomberg reports that hotels are nearly full.

- **Lunar New Year:** Begins on January 29th worldwide with parades causing street closures in cities like San Francisco and New York City.

- **Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans:** Takes place on February 9th during Mardi Gras parade season, leading to high demand for accommodations and flights.

**Spring 2025**

- **Cherry Blossom Season:** Typically occurs between late March and early April in Washington D.C. and Osaka, Japan.

- **Easter in Rome:** Falls on April 20th alongside a Jubilee year; hotel rates have historically increased during this period.

- **Met Costume Institute Gala in New York City:** On May 5th near the Metropolitan Museum of Art, expect traffic congestion and high accommodation costs nearby.

**Summer 2025**

- **Bruce Springsteen Concerts in Milan:** Scheduled for June 30th and July 3rd as part of his world tour.

- **Comic Con in San Diego:** From July 24th to July 27th; known for its vibrant costumes but also heavy traffic around the convention center.

- **Oasis Concerts in Dublin:** Set for August 16th and 17th; limited hotel availability anticipated due to high demand.

**Fall 2025**

- **U.N. General Assembly in New York City:** Runs from September 9th to September 23rd; expect significant traffic disruptions.

- **Fashion Weeks Across Major Cities:**

- New York City (September 11–15)

- London (September 18–22)

- Milan (September 23–29)

- Paris (September 29–October7)

Luxury hotels will likely be booked by fashion industry leaders during these weeks.

- **Formula One Race Weekend in Austin:** From October17–19; draws large crowds due to concerts accompanying the race event.

Several music tours could further impact travel plans if dates overlap with trips:

The Jonas Brothers plan a tour celebrating their twentieth anniversary without confirmed dates yet. Harry Styles, BlackPink, Chappell Roan intend tours while BTS members complete military service by June next year—future concert locations remain uncertain.
