Delta Air Lines is once again demonstrating its support for veterans, active service members, and their families by matching mile donations made by SkyMiles members throughout November. This initiative marks the tenth consecutive year that Delta has committed to matching up to 10 million miles donated to the Fisher House Foundation's Hero Miles program and Luke’s Wings’ No Service Member Spends the Holidays Alone campaign.

The Hero Miles program and Luke's Wings utilize these donated miles to facilitate air travel for wounded, injured, or ill service members and veterans, along with their families, during periods of treatment and recovery. November is a significant month for honoring military personnel, as it includes both Veterans Day on November 11th and National Veterans and Military Families Month.

"For the tenth year, Delta is proud to partner with our SkyMiles Members to give back to the men and women who have sacrificed so much for others," said Tad Hutcheson, Managing Director – Community Engagement. "Through this partnership, we are able to aid in the healing process by connecting injured veterans and service members with their loved ones at the time they need it most."

Since its establishment, Fisher House Foundation has saved military and veteran families over $610 million by providing accommodations near major medical centers at no cost. Delta has contributed to building several Fisher Houses across various locations in the U.S., including California, Seattle, and New York.

Luke’s Wings has been operational since 2008 and has provided more than 17,000 flights for military families. The organization aims to add another 2,000 flights in 2024 alone. These efforts ensure that travel costs do not hinder access to necessary care for service members undergoing recovery.

Delta also extends its support through various other organizations such as Armed Services YMCA of Alaska; Best Defense Foundation; Camp Southern Ground; Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation; Folds of Honor Foundation; Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund; Marine Toys for Tots Foundation; Operation Healing Forces; USO; Veterans Empowerment Organization in Atlanta; World War II Foundation; as well as airport military lounges across different cities.
