Federal Express Corporation has announced the launch of a new air route connecting Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador directly with Miami. This initiative aims to provide importers and exporters increased access to markets in the Americas and globally.

“This new route responds to the needs of our customers and reaffirms the commitment of FedEx to the region and its economic development,” stated Humberto Lira, Vice President of Operations for South America at FedEx. “It strengthens our capabilities, improves service for importers, and expands the value proposition of FedEx for SMEs and key industries in Argentina, offering them excellent service for their international shipments,” he added.

The route will be operated by a Boeing 767-300 with a capacity of 42,565 kilos per flight. It is designed to enhance export services to over 220 countries and territories within FedEx's extensive global network. The flights will have multiple weekly frequencies, starting from Miami International Airport in the United States, proceeding to Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina; then Santiago Airport in Chile; making a stop at Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, Ecuador before returning to Miami.

Argentina ranks among the top ten markets for Miami airport according to annual trade exchange data from 2023. With reliable end-to-end FedEx services ensuring effective shipment tracking, this flight is expected to particularly benefit small and medium-sized producers as well as significant business segments such as international e-commerce, automotive industry, wine production, manufacturing, design, and fashion. SMEs make up 99.4% of all companies in Argentina and employ 64% of registered workers; thus this flight will allow them to expand their export capacity globally.

FedEx has been supporting cross-border trade with Argentina since establishing operations there over three decades ago. This latest announcement highlights the company's commitment to expanding its service portfolio across Latin America and the Caribbean region where it is also extending its reach with another dedicated route connecting Honduras and Guatemala with Miami.
