Founded in 1983 by Sue L. Gin, a first-generation Chinese American entrepreneur, Flying Food Group has grown from a single catering kitchen at Chicago’s Midway International Airport into a leading U.S. catering company with a global perspective. With employees representing over 40 countries, the organization emphasizes creating a welcoming environment for all, including women, minorities, veterans, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ members, reinforced through recruitment, training, and unit-based initiatives.

Each year, Flying Food Group contributes all taxable income to The Sue L. Gin Foundation Trust, which funds healthcare, education, and immigration rights initiatives. Under CEO David Cotton, who worked alongside Gin for two decades, the company continues to expand its reach and uphold the high standards of culinary quality and service that Gin championed.
