Federal Express Corporation, a major player in express transportation, has announced an improvement to its inbound shipping service for customers importing into Jakarta. This enhancement allows importers and local businesses to receive deliveries one day earlier for shipments arriving from Asia, Europe, and the United States on weekdays.

The improved service applies to FedEx International Priority (IP) and FedEx International Priority Freight (IPF), which typically deliver packages within one to three business days. It also extends to FedEx International Economy (IE) and FedEx International Economy Freight (IEF) services, catering to parcels and freight reaching Indonesian customers in two to five business days.

“FedEx is dedicated to supporting businesses in Jakarta by meeting the growing demand for faster and more reliable delivery of shipments,” stated Garrick Thompson, managing director of FedEx Indonesia. He noted that imports from Asia, Europe, and the U.S. increased by 15%, 10%, and 8% respectively year-over-year in 2023. Thompson added that "the shorter transit time can support the growth of Indonesia’s economy," allowing importers quicker access to critical shipments which aids them in adapting swiftly to market changes.

This enhancement is part of FedEx's ongoing investment in services and infrastructure aimed at providing unique value to customers. The company strives to be a comprehensive solution for reliable global delivery and digital solutions that streamline supply chains. Recently, FedEx launched its Denpasar Gateway, offering faster connections for Bali businesses. In 2023, it also reduced transit times for export shipments to Singapore, helping Indonesian businesses extend their market reach.
