Federal Express Corporation, commonly known as FedEx, has announced an extension of preparation time for export shipments from Bangkok, Samut Prakan, and major industrial zones such as Ayutthaya, Chonburi, and Pathum Thani. This initiative aims to provide customers with increased flexibility during the busy holiday season.

The new extended preparation times will be in effect from November 2024 to March 2025. Customers using services like FedEx International First®, FedEx International Priority® Express, FedEx International Priority®, and FedEx International Economy® can now prepare their shipments until 5:30 pm in Bangkok and Samut Prakan. In Chonburi and Rayong, the cutoff time is set at 4:30 pm. For freight shipments via FedEx International Priority® Freight and FedEx International Economy® Freight from regions including Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Pathum Thani, the extended times are either 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm depending on postal codes.

"This service enhancement comes at a critical time for businesses as the year-end holiday season typically drives significant increase in consumer spending," stated Sasathorn Phaspinyo, managing director of FedEx Thailand. "Extending the preparation time will help businesses grow their export business as they navigate one of the busiest times of the year."

This development supports not only FedEx customers but also boosts Thailand's export growth. In the first three quarters of 2024, exports increased by 3.9% year-over-year to USD 223.18 billion (approximately THB 7.96 trillion). With expectations for continued growth towards year's end, this move aids local businesses in meeting heightened production and delivery demands.

FedEx also offers additional services such as customs clearance and special handling to further assist Thai businesses in managing heavy-weight shipments efficiently.
