Automated technology designed to improve airport operations has earned Aurrigo International plc the title of 'Most Innovative' company at the Made in the UK Awards in Liverpool. The company's Auto-DollyTug, an automated and electric-powered tug, outperformed competitors from across various regions including the Midlands, the North, the South, and Northern Ireland.

The Auto-DollyTug is poised to replace traditional diesel tugs, offering airports a solution that reduces costs, enhances operational efficiency, improves safety, and significantly lowers carbon emissions. Judges praised the airside solution for its effectiveness and noted its deployment at international airports.

Aurrigo's recent announcement of Phase 2 trials at Changi Airport marked a world first with a fleet of autonomous vehicles managing wide-body flight turnarounds. This development highlighted real customer interest and enthusiasm for their technology.

Professor David Keene, CEO of Aurrigo, expressed his satisfaction with the award: “There is significant momentum building behind Auto-DollyTug and this national title will only help us to amplify our story and the difference our technology can make."

He added: “To compete with some great companies, from all over the country, and come out on top is massive for our business and a huge confidence boost for our employees that the hours and commitment they are putting in is being noticed.”

Keene also mentioned plans to leverage this accolade in discussions with current and potential clients as well as attracting new talent.

The Made in the UK Awards celebrate excellence in manufacturing. Held at Liverpool's Titanic Hotel this year, the event drew over 350 attendees from the sector to recognize outstanding manufacturing achievements.
