“Memorial Day weekend always marks the start of the summer travel season at LAX," stated Doug Webster, Interim Chief Operations and Maintenance Officer at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). Webster noted the increased demand for travel to and from Los Angeles due to school breaks and relaxed workdays.
